METHOD

As a body-oriented therapist in training,  I am happy to guide you in your process. I work from the conviction that you know best which steps you need to take and that you can do it yourself, even if it may feel like you don't know where to start. One thing is for sure though, we all need to feel seen and understood in who we are and what we are going through. I offer you a safe place where you can explore what lives inside you.

I'd love to meet you where you are now.

In the sessions I work from the here and now, with what is present in the foreground in the moment. We also investigate what has faded more into the background. We do exercises to increase your body awareness. and to increase your grounding. We work with blockages (on an emotional/physical/mental level) and look at your survival patterns that we encounter. We investigate the origin of these blockages and do exercises that can provide a different experience. By being present with curiosity with what presents itself in your body in the here and now, new insights can arise. Nothing has to go away, we are creating space and new experiences.

I work trauma-sensitive: I have knowledge about, understanding and awareness of how emotional trauma can affect people and can get stuck in the body. And also how this trauma potentially carries a lot of wisdom and information. Your body and nervous system show the way and determine the pace.

Body-oriented (integrative) psychotherapy

Body-oriented psychotherapy is a form of therapy that focuses on the body. Experiencing and feeling happens in your body. Whether you are happy, anxious, overstimulated, despondent, lonely or angry, you experience this in your body. In body-oriented psychotherapy we use your body as the entrance for the research.

The therapy uses body- and experience-oriented techniques, such as :

Bio-Energetics
Bodydrama
Breathwork
Mindfulness
Meditation

These methods are supported by insightful conversations.

What does it yield?

Body-oriented therapy contributes to more body awareness, more grounding, more relaxation, more contact with your boundaries, with your liveliness and strength. In the sessions we work towards more autonomy, more freedom and an expanded ability to live in and with reality.

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it, and embrace them...
