About Sarah

Sarah sculpting_edited.jpg

My name is Sarah Feirabend (1982). Together with my son and our 2 cats I live in Amsterdam. Besides treasure hunting in myself and others ;-) I love genuine contact with people, singing, dancing, music, yin yoga, sun on my skin, good food, walks in nature, and treasure hunting outside in nature.

Embracing my humanity in an embodied way is where my curiosity and dedication have been going in recent years.

My path

I have always been fascinated by what it means to be human. In English sometimes the expression 'how to human', is used, as if it were a verb. So, how do we human? (And also, how do we do Life ;-))? I first studied this how to be a human from a more distant, analytical perspective, during my Social History studies. At the same time, I was searching in my own life: who am I? Where do I belong? For years I searched zealously for a feeling of security and connectedness, especially outside myself, by thinking my way to it, through my head. I for sure did not get into my body; while, for sure, that's where the connection (with myself) was missing, that's where my frozen life energy lived.

A number of impactful life events left me completely stuck. After years of endless conversations, which did provide some relief but did not give me the grounding, confidence and insights to really take control of my life, it became clear to me that I had to take a different path: one which included my body. I started with body-oriented psychotherapy. In the experience-oriented sessions I learned about co- and self-regulation; about developmental trauma; about intergenerational and systemic trauma. It was the beginning of a deep inner journey, which still continues. My curiosity turned out to be my greatest treasure.

In 2021 I started training to become a Body-Oriented Therapist. In recent years I have experienced how healing and growth are possible through (re-)connecting with the body and being present with everything that lives there. In learning to relate to universal human feelings, I increasingly find the connection with myself and with others. From my lived experience, knowledge and curiosity I hope to be able to support others on their path.

I know how much courage, gentleness and trust it takes to investigate yourself in a relationship with someone else and to take steps towards healing. I would love to meet you!
